EchoNest is the brainchild of Tristan Jehan and Brian Whitman who met at MIT’s Media Lab. EchoNest provides music intelligence platform and enables third parties to use the platform to build the next generation music application.
Spotify is one example of a company tapping into the EchoNest’s intelligence capabilities, matching users’ likes with new suggestions through EchoNest’s algorithms, similarly to Apple’s Genius but with a user interface that works better for music aficionados.
